One way to have contacts automatically syncing to your HP printers is by connecting it up to an LDAP server. If you are reading this article and not from the IT department/provider you will need to get in touch with them to get this set up.
- Browse the the printers web interface via the IP address (e.g 10.0.65.10) then select Sign-in at the top right
- Sign-in with your credentials then select the Scan/Digital Send tab
- Select Contacts on the left hand side then tick Enable Network COntacts (use LDAP server)
- Select Add then fill out all required fields
- Before pressing OK ensure that you use the Test feature at the bottom of the page
NOTE: RBC is unable to assist with setting up/troubleshooting the LDAP directly and can only assist with showing you where to enter the details.
General Troubleshooting
- Ensure printer is using your local DNS settings if you are trying to resolve a hostname instead of IP address
- Networking > Network Identification
- Ensure printer is using correct gateway
- Networking > TCP/IP(v4)
- Ensure date/time is correct (recommend settiing up NTS/NTP server)
- General > Date/Time settings
- Select NTS settings to setup NTS/NTP
- General > Date/Time settings
